Two requirements to serve at Calvary Chapel Santa Maria are that you have attended CCSM for at least 6 months before serving, and you must be "born again."

In the Gospel of John, Jesus makes it very clear that unless one is born again, he or she cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. Being born again can simply be put this way: 1) You have recognized that you're a sinner 2) You need to be saved from your sins 3) You have invited Jesus Christ into your life 4) You are currently living a godly life for God.

It's very important that as a servant of this fellowship, your beliefs on certain doctrines are consistent with the teachings of Calvary as well. Included in this packet is a booklet about the "who, what and where of Calvary Chapel". There you will find Calvary Chapel's statement of  faith as well as our doctrinal beliefs.

It is our hope that we would all experience the delight in praying without ceasing. Our prayer ministries provide continual prayer coverage for all the ministries of CCSM as well as each other's needs through intercession.

We're committed to providing a biblical understanding of issues through the church counseling ministry based only on Biblical principles, and not secular methods. In other words, we believe that a biblical understanding of all of life's challenges can be found in the Word of God and through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Therefore, regardless of whether you need church counseling with issues related to your marriage, family or yourself, we offer private church counseling ministry sessions that consist of focusing on understanding God through His Word and prayer.

Our youth ministry seeks to encourage the youth in their relationship with Jesus through worship, prayer, learning God's Word, fellowship with one another and serving others.

Cross Cultural -In the sending of missionaries there is the relationship between those going and those sending: both are of utmost importance. CCSM desires to build disciples at home and abroad. Local Outreach -Missions' starts at home and this ministry is where it is happening. Visiting our local homeless shelter on a weekly basis, the opportunity for preaching the gospel is ever-present. Salt & Light -Keeps the church body informed of social/moral issues that can be addressed in a positive way through prayer. By our affiliation with "Traditional Values Coalition" and "Campaign for California Families", we are able to contact our legislators. Touching Hearts -A group of believers who have a strong desire to reach the elderly, sick, lonely and widows for Jesus Christ.

Our worship team serves the Lord with great passion and a heart to pursue the presence of the Lord through music and song. The team is always open to new members and the media ministry is connected to the worship team. They serve the fellowship here by operating the systems that project worship lyrics, videos, announcements and sermon notes during services. We do this using video equipment and computers that use special presentation software. Also the ministry supplies live feed to our website during church services. Occasionally weddings, funerals, and other special events will require the worship/media ministry's support as well.

We recognize that men have been ordained by God as the spiritual leader of the home (l Cor. 11:3, Eph. 5:23), therefore the chief goal of this ministry to equip men to achieve the hope of his calling.

It is our desire to provide plenty of opportunities and resources for women to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. We offer Bible studies on Tuesday nights and Friday mornings. From September thru May. Prayer is a vital part of the ministry. We meet once a week to offer up our praises and supplications to the Lord, as well as have prayer groups at each study.

We understand that the family is the core of our church, the primary relationship in our lives. We want to give husbands/fathers, wives/mothers tools to understand what God's word says about our roles and responsibilities and have a great time discovering what God has in store for us!
